I look at the neat uniforms
All the treats and school drills
I wish, I knew what was beyond ABC…
Hoping that coins aren’t all I need to see

It’s not my indifference to knowledge
The society is not ready to give a baggage
I need money to read and write
The money used by many for ‘fight’

Name me as you like, as you are learned
Less privileged, ignorant and poor am I
Give me the chance to turn those pages
Maybe I’ll show you the way to turn fate

Trust me and let me be among you
Make the street vendor a school going lad
Take the pack and lend a book
I want to colour the leaf of my life…
