Rujak is a popular dessert in Indonesia. It is a very healthy dessert because it is like a fruit salad with spicy peanut sauce, and is made from chilies, peanuts and brown sugar. Many other fruits can also be added to it, such as: mango, yam, papaya, apple, pineapple, guava, watermelon, cucumber, melon, and grape fruit.
Rujak’s presentation is quite easy: slice the fruits into small pieces, and then make the sauce. The ingredients include five red chilies – depending on your taste, peanuts, brown sugar and salt. If you are lazy, this sauce can also be made with just salt and chilies.
The recommended time to eat Rujak is at noon, after refrigerating it for sometime.
